What the law says

Excerpts of the law are reproduced in their official French version; the explanation that follows is translated.

Loi sur les permis d'alcool (P-9.1), art. 55

If the holder fails to comply with sections 53 and 54 (including payment of the annual duties) or to pay an administrative penalty, the permit is revoked by operation of law on its anniversary date; the Régie may waive the revocation if the holder shows a reasonable excuse and pays the annual duties and the penalty.
